It involves trust, too, because you want to know that it's coming from a desire to help you, not to puff up their own ego. Personally, I've had enough harshness in my time, so I'm more motivated by honesty mixed with encouragement. I also think it's important for coaches to have a coach, so we don't start thinking we're the great and wonderful Oz.
