What Does Fresca REALLY Taste Like?

Last week, there were quite a few words flying around. Many supportive yet some unkind.

Some were especially unkind towards the bane of my existence…my guilty pleasure: Fresca.

While the accuser never stepped forward to respond to my readers question about exactly HOW he knew Fresca tasted like…well…other stuff, I decided to hit the streets and find out first hand about the public’s perception of Fresca.

That’s not always a bad thing, just means it’s an occasional late night alternative.. after all day mainlining caffeine and my heart rate’s well past optimal levels.

I must say that I prefer the taste of classic Fresca. There’s nothing else like it. Great to see so many familiar faces in this video – fun to see some new ones!

Oh my. This is freaking GENIUS, woman! When I was a kid my mom was obsessed with Fresca but wouldn’t let me drink it because she didn’t want me having “fake sugar” at such a young age. But my mom was a working woman so when she’d leave for the day I’d go into her Fresca stash and steal a can. She surprisingly never caught on, but to this day Fresca reminds me of being a kid. I actually had no idea they still made it! Now I’m really craving one but don’t think they’re available in Londontown :’-(

I have to admit that I’d never heard of Fresca before so I looked for it at my local store and lo and behold, there it was. I was fully prepared to try it until I checked the ingredient list and I saw aspartame. I guess Fresca will remain one of the things I never tasted in my life. (Full list available upon request )

When I was a kid my grandma used to let my cousins and me have Fresca (original flavor) and chocolate chip cookies as an afternoon treat. Mmm mmm good.
